Chris was good to his word and most of that table top is from 2 big pallets he gave me. We are having lots of building work at at school at the minute so I'm grabbing more from there as well.

What way are you going to build the legs of it?

Not to sure yet. We have some old 3x2 at school that had coat pegs on that I have my eye on when the builders throw it out. Failing that, the just wood people sell similar reclaimed cheaply.

I was thinking the same to be honest. A Good sanding down and a few coats of varnish would be the job

I really can't make up my mind to be honest. One of the bars in Nottingham has a great long bench that is made of polished pallets and it does look spiffy. I think I'm being persuaded by the wife to go for a stain, I might stick to my guns and be persuaded by you guys to polish/varnish instead!
