Leicester City's academy side edged out Blackburn Rovers to book their place in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup on Wednesday evening.
In a game of limited chances, a fifth minute Robbie Burns strike was enough to seal victory for the Foxes.
A neat pass from Billy Kee found Burns in the penalty area who was able to slot the ball past goalkeeper Andreas Arestidou and find the bottom corner of the net.
Ashley Chambers charged down a poor goalkeeping clearance two minutes later but the ball dropped narrowly over the bar before a Billy Kee shot from the edge of the box just missed the target.
The visitors came close to an equaliser in first half injury time. A free kick from the right was met by Lathanital Rowe -Turner in front of goal but the defender managed to direct his header around the post for a Rovers corner.
The Foxes continued to hold firm in the second half with goalkeeper Kevin O'Brien more than equal to a long-range effort from Blackburn midfielder Aaron Doran.
Billy Kee had an opportunity to put the game beyond doubt two minutes from time but the Rovers goalkeeper parried the striker's shot to safety.
The Foxes will now face Crystal Palace in the fourth round of the FA Youth Cup.
