SOLD OUT

Fox Travel:

Fox Travel coaches will depart the staidum at 12 noon, and are priced as follows:

£13 Adult STH
£11 Senior/Under 16 STH
£15 Adult NON STH
£13 Senior/Under 16 NON STH

Directions & Parking:

Approx 57 miles - 1hr 15mins

Maybe MK will confirm, but this is the route I suggest:

M1 south to J14 ....

Join the A509, and at the first roundabout take the 3rd exit (Portway), go straight over the next 4 roundabouts. At the 5th turn left onto Marlborough Street, continue over the next 2 roundabouts, and at the 3rd roundabout take the 2nd exit on to Standing Way. Straight over the immediate roundabout, and take the first left and the 2nd, on to Saxon Street. Follow the road down, and the ground is on the right hand side.

There is approx 2000 spaces at the ground. Car parking is £5

Trains:

The closest station is Bletchley, although this is still 2 miles from the ground. The main station - Milton Keynes Central is approx 4 miles from the ground. A off peak return to either Bletchely or Milton Keynes Central from Leicester is £28.60. On this particular ticket you can change at either Nuneaton or Coventry. You may also have to change at Milton Keynes Central if your planning on going to Bletchley.

Alternitively you could save yourself some money by splitting your journey and going via Nuneaton. A off peak day return from Leicester to Nuneaton is £7.90. A super off peak day return from Nuneaton to Milton Keynes Central is £9.00 = Total £16.90, a saving of £11.70. If you decide to go on to Bletchley, a off peak day from Milton Keynes Central is £3, making it a total of £19.90, a saving of £8.70.

Even further savings can be made if groups of 4 are travelling together. On the Nuneaton to Milton Keynes Central leg of the journey 4 can travel for £7.50 each as opposed to £9.00. You will need to ask for a Group Save 4 off peak day return. Groups of 3 are better off taking the £9.00 super off peak day return option.

PM or reply to this thread for more information.

For further details regarding onward transport from either of the above stations, see here

Pubs:

Not a great deal near the stadium at all. The Football Ground Guide has a few suggestions here, MK any suggestions??

Fenny Stratford is slightly closer. You can get there from Leicester by changing at Bedford.
And brings you to a nice pub by the canal, the red lion. 20 mins walk to stadium

Re: MK Dons - Sat 28th Feb '09 - 3pm

pubs
the beacon in mount farm will be rammed
the caldecote arms is alright, but an extra 10 mins away
the enigma is by the bus station and full of neds
there are a few in fenny statford (15-20 mins from ground) the best probably being the red lion on the canal, but the foundry and the swan are good drinking pubs too

...and if highland & a-z are coming then pink punters is a must...

eeerrr... If you want to go on to Bletchley, or indeed Fenny Stratford, there is no need to buy an extra ticket from Milton Keynes Central because the price to all three stations is exactly the same. Buy a ticket to Fenny Stratford in the first place; you then have the choice of alighting at and returning from any of the three stations.

You also need to make it clear that the fares you quote from Nuneaton are valid only on London Midland trains. If you travel on a Virgin train for any part of the journey, you will be liable to significant surcharge.

or follow the signs for ikea, it's next to the stadium.

If you come down the A5, come off at the exit after the one signed for shopping (the third exit once it has become dual carriageway) and bung a right, you can't miss the stadium

Re: MK Dons - Sat 28th Feb '09 - 3pm

I've got the definitive on the tickets. As well as the 3,500 allocation that we have already got, there are another 700 if/when we want/need them. This is the same allocation that Leeds had; they had 4,160 fans at the game.

If I wanted to go to the game, I would buy one on the first day they were available to me.

myself and three swedish mates are coming over to England the weekend of the MK dons clash (jolly boys outing type thingy)

The swedes love british football we have all over the country watching various matches.

Three questions for you real fans.

1: As i am not a member (shame on me) and have to wait for the general sale for these tickets. what is the chance that any will be left over?

2: Buying ticket in the home end is it bad idea? I have read other team websites were they will eject people from the away side if discovered. The MK DON site Recomends that away fans by ticket in the away end...but nothing more than that...

MK dons seem to get that many to there matches so maybe they will happy for the money?

3: We planned to travel to leicester on the saturday anyway. Is there anyone who has any good tips were city fans might gather to listen/watch the match.

1. I suspect that there will be a very few tickets left for the General Sale on the Saturday.

2. Buying tickets in the home end is a bad idea if you can't sit on your hands and stay silent when City score.

3. The match will not be televised. I doubt if City fans gather anywhere just to listen to the game.

Re: travel advise MK_don-CITY

Try dropping a line to Peter Jones at the club and see if they can sort something out for you to get tickets.

I have been told we can ask and get more tickets if required, so I wouldn't be too concerned if you can't sort something out beforehand.

See post #8

Any additional allocation will only be 700 tickets.

I can't agree with that advice at all. Even with the relatively small number of extra tickets that will be made available, I would be concerned enough to get a ticket at the earliest possible opportunity. IMO there will be very few tickets left for General Sale.

Spot on. Might be worth contacting the club ASAP with your plight. The club will be anticpating selling all its allocation....in quick time too.

Bus route 7 from the bus station near Bletchley station goes past the ground.

Re: MK Dons - Sat 28th Feb '09 - 3pm

Do the regulars think there will be some available on priority 3 day?

Yes, they will definitely go to P3. I think they will go all the way to General Sale, but only a few.
