    tom huddlestone

Common sense would suggest that Huddlestone would be welcomed by a number of Premiership sides if he were available. I can't really see us being in the running on this one although Sven has already surprised us before.

    My letter to Sven

Haven't been on here in ages and for some reason I have decided to read through this whole thread. This forum needs a reputation system so that I can negrep superscout a million times. Thread needs to get back to its earlier s**tposting glory.

They continued the trend but didn't start it, Manchester United did in the nineties. They were regularly paying ridiculous sums of money for players long before anyone else.

    Sven

To be fair Sven does seem to have good man management skills which is probably exactly what the club needs at the moment. Can't be any worse than Sousa.

Gallagher & Wellens to Sheff Utd ??

Agreed. Our defensive problem at the moment is teams playing the ball out to the flanks which is why players like Gradel and Kebe have causing us problems. The last thing we need to do is play a diamond and leave our full backs even more exposed.

    Franck Moussa

He put in a couple of good balls into the box in the short time he was on, his movement was quite good, found a blue shirt with his passing and looked really positive. Looked like a decent player to me.

Gallagher & Wellens to Sheff Utd ??

You obviously have a much higher opinion of Sousa than me then.
  12. H

    Franck Moussa

Really impressed me against Reading as well. Much better than N'Guessen (who to be fair is best suited to playing up front imo).

    Waghorn bid?

From Stringer's twitter: Fear not, Martyn Waghorn to Leicester City will be complete in a mater of hours. Also, a defender is being chased instead of Williams. So in addition to being an idiot he can't spell either.

Talksport are reporting that DJ Campbell to Blackpool is a done deal.

    Leicester 1 Reading 2

Agreed, I thought we were good going forward and the ref cost us points with some terrible decisions. The problem was the defense not attack. We had plenty of chances and forced a couple of terrific saves from Federici and several goal line clearances. If we sort ourselves out at the back we...

Gallagher & Wellens to Sheff Utd ??

Maybe he thought Oakley did a good job in tracking midfield runners and giving the defense an easy outlet for the ball so our central halves didn't have to hold on to the ball on the edge of our area while they looked for a blue shirt to play it to.
  21. H

Gallagher & Wellens to Sheff Utd ??

It was justifiable if his intention was to throw the game.
  22. H

    John Utaka

Ah, fair enough. No way Reading are selling him though, especially now they have the Siggurdson money.
  23. H

    John Utaka

Good player though, played well on Saturday.
  24. H

    Waghorn bid?

I like him but Steve Howard is not going to get us into the premiership. I'd sell Gallagher. Don't really know what he is supposed to be (other than lazy). Also basing this on the realistic knowledge that PS isn't going to play Morrison at RB even though I think he should.
  25. H

    Waghorn bid?

Imo if this transfer goes through there is no reason why Fryatt and Waghorn can't play together if they are both here. This is our strongest team based on who is here at the moment. Full back is our biggest problem in the team. Lamey is awful. Weale Neilson Hobbs Vitor (or Morrison)...

    sousa out

I don't like Sousa and don't want him here but you are exaggerating quite a bit here. He inherited a squad that had done well but had got rid of quite a few of their best players. They were by no means an excellent squad. Swansea had a poor run in but didn't really show relegation form for a...

    Waghorn bid?

Not posted on here in a while...but I just can't believe the stick Fryatt gets sometimes. This element of his game in particular always gets overlooked and if we are playing one up front he should be in that role. He is the only player our opponents really fear and one of the few who other fans...

    New Kit... kind of.

It is yes. Some pictures of the originals can be found here. http://www.leicestercitymatchworn.com/?seasons=1983 There seems to be two versions of this kit. One with the pinstripes that go though the sponser (which has a white sponser on the away) and one where they don't go though the...

    Macclesfield Town (CC1)

Why, are we signing him back from Northampton then? Agree with you in principle, although I'd probably put O'Neil on the bench and start Neilsen if he is available.
  30. H

    Macclesfield Town (CC1)

Don't think we need to put a full strength side out. Fryatt, Gradel, Adams Tunchev and Dickov need games and I think it would be a good chance for Logan and O'Neil to get involved too. I wouldn't want any of Howard, Waghorn, Hobbs or N'Guessen getting injured before Ipswich based on Saturday's...

    Nigel Pearson - Confirmed

Perhaps and I hope so because I think that was probably Kelly's ultimate limitation. They are similar in that they both know the game through have a lot of coaching experience and have never really had the chance to prove themselves in management given that their experience is with clubs who are...

    Nigel Pearson - Confirmed

:) Its all irrelevant anyway because we did stay up, get relegated the next season and now Pearson is in charge to get us back up. I think my point was that Kelly and Pearson are kind of similar.

    Nigel Pearson - Confirmed

Not sure what makes you think that I didn't know that too???
  34. H

    Nigel Pearson - Confirmed

I did go to a lot of the games towards the end of that season. Kelly had an awful home record but we did manage to get a few wins away from home. We were arguably even worse at home under Nigel Worthington including a loss to a poor Norwich side and we got two 1-0 away wins against Barnsley and...
  35. H

    Nigel Pearson - Confirmed

Nigel Worthington's record was no better than Rob Kelly's and he did nothing to improve our team. He didn't do a bad job considering the dire situation we were in and I don't think he would have done as badly or squandered as much money as our managers did last season either. He is also probably...
  36. H

    Nigel Pearson - Confirmed

Could be a very shrewd appointment but he does remind me a bit of Rob Kelly (who for the record never should have been sacked imo). He took over a Southampton side that was in dissaray and kept them up despite the fact that he was working in an environment so turbulant that working for Mandaric...

The manager search - what a way to run a football club!!

The rumour mill is that he got 2k off of a transfer according to the Cambridge supporter I work with. He also granted transfers to nine of the eleven players who played in the playoff final at Wembley in May to rival clubs in their division for small sums of money. Bit of a strange one imo.
