1.25 mil is a whole years wages of 3 players being paid 8 grand a week (i dont know what sort of wages our players are one but i would imagine todays deal probably covers at least 4 or 5 of them for the next 12 months)

I reckon it will be used to cover the 6 million shortfall if we dont go up.

I think it was said the wage bill would have to be cut by a further £3m at the end of the current season if we don't get promoted this season, so obviously this £1.25m will ease that slightly. We should only need to get rid of about £1.5m of players instead of £3m. And of course, we may even be able to sell another player by then for a £1m+, or we could get the extra million for Connolly.

Yup, Hume is probably on a few thousand less. In fact, Elvis + Hume could well be less than Connolly was on.
