Do you know if this also applies to other staff? It's being said elsewhere that City have transferred a lot of high earners (not players) off the City staff and employed them by King Power instead. That way, their costs can't be accounted against the club.

Not aware of this. There have been "management charges" from Group companies reflected in the figures. £1.2m (2011/12) & £1.1m (2012/3 - just published), but the commentary states these charges will now cease, so that's another £1m off the 2013/4 expenditure. In some ways that indicates the reverse of the above.

However if you have a group of companies, accountants should always be able to find a way to place costs in the most tax advantageous way across the group, and those costs would fall into the most profitable elements of the company

As has been said by the Foxes Trust, it is certain that as many costs as possible were accounted for in the results just published rather than them being reflected in the May 2014 figures. I am sure every other club that could be caught by FFP will do exactly the same.

Of course they will, but some clubs have just rolled the dice and gambled, and they can't all get promoted, as it looks as they will be fighting for a single Play Off Winners place, be interesting to see how many clubs face a transfer embargo come Jan 2015 and how the news will get out to the fans (as currently the Football League do not make public any embargoes)

Id be surprised if any clubs believe an embargo will actually happen. Punishments of that nature in recent times have been lifted after a brief time or just made pointless like Watford's ban.

It will be essential for the Football League to apply the ban, otherwise FFP will fall apart and then a raft of clubs will cease to exist or left to fans to pick up the pieces like Pompey.

Swindon were under an embargo previously with League 1/2 max % of wages to turnover rules, as revealed by Di Canio when he went mardy about being unable to sign anyone.

The Football League recognise they have a decision to make on announcing the embargoes, we have pointed out directly to them that fans have a right to know if their club is under an embargo

I go for what! Quite remarkable really.

Might not true, but I heard on the Football Weekly podcast that Lewandowski was on 15k a week when they reached the CL final last year. Less than Gallagher, St Ledger, Whitbread, Danns........Probably even Logan.

Could we swap one (or all) of them for him?

QPR do have around 150 players on their books though.

True. Redknapp genuinely signed so many players last January in a desperate attempt to keep them in the Prem that he couldn't register all of his new boys. I hope he never has another chance to help ruin any more clubs after this season.

as we are likely to be the recipients of parachute payments if it all goes wrong next season, anything that makes it easier for us to go back up should be kept in place !

Nah, this is the start of at least a decade in the top flight!
