Taken from Leeds OS:
Leeds United's away support has been confirmed as the best in League One and is second only to Coca-Cola Championship title winners Wolves in the entire Football League.
United's average away support for the 2008/09 season was 2,523 with only Leicester City in League One also breaking the 2,000-mark with an average away support of 2,002.
Surprisingly, the next biggest away support in League One followed Huddersfield Town, with an average of 944 travelling to watch the Terriers on the road.
In the Championship, Wolves were backed by an average of 2,808 with only Sheffield United (2,316), Nottingham Forest (2,046) and Derby County (2,009) passing the 2,000-mark.
Leeds United's away support would have been higher, had it not been for 22 sell-out allocations away from home. The televised trip to Oldham Athletic on Monday March 2 was the only time the club failed to sell its allocation, and on that occasion 2,815 travelled to Boundary Park.
Our biggest away following of the season came at Peterborough in October when 4,177 travelled to London Road and over 4,000 fans also made the trip to MK Dons in December.
Our smallest followings, due to ticket restrictions, came at Brighton (809) and Hartlepool (938) where tickets were allocated on a loyalty basis.
The largest away following to visit Elland Road last season was Leicester City with 2,911 fans on Boxing Day while the gallant 163 who followed Yeovil Town to Leeds on a Tuesday night in March was the smallest.
