Just wondering after Saturday, what will be the best formation for us to play in the Championship? Should we stick with that cos it worked very well, or bring back Connolly and play 4-4-2? Also, if Connolly comes back in, who do you drop? Personally i thought Hughes, Williams and Gudjonsson were magnificent.

I think we've got to stick with 4-5-1.

We have a few good midfielders, but not a particularly good partnership (i.e. ball winner and playmaker). Gudjohnson, Hughes and Williams were terrific together.

De Vries was brilliant at holding the ball up Saturday and if Gillespie and others support him, it's actually quite an attacking formation.

imo i think tht we shud play 4-5-1 away from home to frustrate teams n mayb snatch a sneaky 1-0 win and at home play a 4-4-2 and attack teams

4 5 1 for me simply because we have two good wingers in Gillespie and Tiatto/Stewart who can get the ball into the big target man (De Vries) drop Connolly as he's useless. A good midfeilder who can strike the ball in Nalis/Gudjonnsen and then Hughes and Williams in the central midfeild area.

I'd be happy with that. Then we can always play that (or kind of) midfield trio. :p  ;-)

Agree with the 3-5-2 at home! We don't have the pace at the back so the natural remedy for that is to use pace on the wings and play Williams Hughes and Gudjonnson in midfield.

Sounds good to me MB

We're awful at home so it would make sense to me if we played a defensive tactic such as 5 4 1 at home with maybury tiatto/stewart heath dabizas and dublin in defence with heath playing more central as he is a lot younger with more pace playin slightly behind the rest with two wingbacks and then we would have adequate cover for the counter attack at the break the two wingers would get some decent crosses in (hopefully) and maybe snatch a 1-0 win. Defensive might be boring but at least it would get us a few more points.

3-5-2 at home fair enough but who do you drop assuming you play Connolly,Who are your back 3?
Tomorrow I think CL might stick with the same formation but different personnel i.e Connolly for MDV and Heath for Dublin, just a guess
