If we go down, the few "better" (i.e. those who other clubs will employ at fizzy league level) players will disappear. I expect they will have get out clauses in their contracts or alternatively we will need to cash them in because of the loss of revenue.

The rubbish players (the bulk of the squad) will remain if they have on-going contracts.

This is not a very cheerful scenario.

I rather hope that if we are in League 1 that we play as many youngsters as practical and try to re-build some sort of club spirit. I think as supporters we would respond to that sort of policy rather than go with the remnants of the rag bags of this season. I tend to draw on parallels from our past and recall the successful season under Jock Wallace when he took over a relegated side.
