We should do this easily however it is Leicester so I am expecting a nervy run in and just pray we get in the play offs!

I'm supposed to be going on holiday in May and now I'm a bit worried that the dates may clash with play-off dates:

8th May - 1st leg semi
12th May - 2nd leg semi
22nd May - Final (....Fryatt, 89 minutes, LCFC 2 - 1 NFFC)

I've heard the games will be split as follows
1st Legs - Fri 7th / Sun 9th
2nd Legs - Tues 11th / Weds 12th

Then giving about a week to sell the tickets for the final

Main issue would be if we have a home tie on Fri 7th & tickets only goal on sale on Mon 3rd (which is also a bank hols) - can the club cope with 32k sales in 4 days?

Fryatt (if he gets back in time)
Waghorn
Oakley
Wellens
Gallagher
Dyer

One of the problems with penalty takers is that they have to be on the pitch at the end. I would include Nobby and Oakley in my five but I don't think they could manage 30 mins extra time.

In the Martin O'Neill playoff final he shocked everyone by bringing on Spider Kalac when it seemed certain to go to penalties. Luckily Steve Claridge scored without kalac unique skills being tested. I wonder whether when it came to penalties NP would follow Martin's idea and prefer the size of Logan to the competence of Weale.

Before Logan's lawyers get in touch I would say that I am not suggesting that Logan and Kalac are in the same class. To those who never saw Kalac keep goal my only comment is - you can have no idea.

Did he? It had been spoken about several times in the days leading up to the Final.

Didn't Mark McGhee claim that Spider Kalac would rank alongside Banks and Shilton in Leicester's history when we signed him?

Spider finished up in a winning City side at Wembley - neither Banks nor Shilton ever did.

well it scared the crap out of me when he came on :icon_lol:

My aunt asked me who it was. :icon_lol: She's never been really into City but always got us tickets for the Wembley play-off finals.

(I think my Dad actually replied with 'that nobhead who let in three against Bolton on the telly.')

Then the rest is history and we won the Owl Cup! :icon_wink

Here's a question for you which I was mulling over last night.
In the playoffs, who would you want to take your penalties if it came down to them?
For us I'd prefer....
Chopra
Whittingham
McCormack
Burke
Bothroyd
Easy:

Cruyff
Davids
Chapman
Hasselbaink
Hammond (ankle)

5-0! :038:

I remember sitting in my university flat listening to 5 live when he flapped about and lost a game for us 3-2 on his debut. Did he appear again before the play-off final?

I was once talking to an Australian in Amsterdam who finding I was from Leicester asked whether I had come across a player called Kalac.
I exploded. "In all my years of watching football he is the worst professional I have ever seen" I then went on to repeat the legendary story of Radio Leicester "There stands Kalac with his head in his hands. Lets hope he doesn't drop it."

"Oh" said the Australian "he's one of my best mates".

One of many Gwilliam gaffes.

Was that Geoff Peters?

This has really cheered me up.

Well, no it hasn't, but it's made me chuckle. Cheers DG :thumbs_up

History shows though that he didn't drop it. Another Leicester keeper of the time did manage to drop something in rather embarrassing circumstances was Kevin Poole - an inscribed glass trophy that he had just been awarded - oooops!!
