a good squad

we get enough negative stuff (some of it justified to be fair) about players on here that i thought id say something positive about our squad

we have a group of players at the club - williams 23, stewart 22, heath 23, connolly 27, stearman 17, dawson 19, maybury 26, de vries 29, gudjonnson 24, morris 24, wright 20, gillespie 29 - who have the potential to form the basis of a very good squad for us in the future - ok im probably being a bit optimistic with a couple of them but most of them i think can be extremely important players for us.

they are all under 30, i would say gillespie, stewart, williams and gudjonnson have all improved significantly of late, i really think we have the potential, with some astute dealing in the summer and some continued improvement/development from some of the younger players listed above to have a really good squad come next august

A good manager will always select his best 11, It dont matter if the players are old or young as long as we get the results.

Agree with you there Step, but I would hope we would look to sign players with a longer term view in mind instead of the thirtysomething one season left brigade, we need hunger and desire in this squad not players who are here for one last pay day.
