We appointed a new manager. How many of us thought he'd last this long?

I gotta admit i was gutted at the appointment, thought it was gonna be another awful season. Never been so happy to be proved wrong. Top stuff NP :038::038::038:

ditto, his only proper managerial job (ignoring Southampton as it wasn't a full season) was almost a disaster, I for one wasn't overly impressed with the appointment

There was a desperate need for a calming influence after the hyperactivity of Martin Allen. Milan realised this with Gary Megson but his decision to quickly abandon the mess only made the situation worse. Ian Holloway is a good man and I believe a far better manager than Allen but even his admirers would not call him a calming influence.

A year ago Milan got it right and appointed an excellent manager and the ultimate calming influence. I hope fans remember this when at some stage we go through a bad patch. I still remember the fans turning on the great Jimmy Bloomfield after one bad performance when we were midtable of the First Division.

Pearson's been with us for a year... so he's got another three months to make the average stay for a league manager...

Why does it say "LIE" in the back ground?

Is there a hidden meaning to the picture?

Nigel must be looking forward to 21st February next year the day after we play a certain Plymouth if he still has the job then well we could be in for a real long haul and if so hopefully it will be a successfull one

I may be missing something, but why do you feel the Plymouth game will be significant?

Clue 1
Plymouth 0 Leicester 0 1st September 2007
After the mid-week sacking of Martin Allen, Leicester caretaker-manager Jon Rudkin made just one change to the side which beat Watford 4-1 last weekend, with Joe Mattock coming in for the hospitalised Clive Clarke

Clue 2 9th April 2007
Plymouth 3 Leicester 0
Peter Halmosi's second goal in as many games helped Plymouth to all three points against a dismal Leicester side at Home Park.

After this game Rob Kelly was sacked and Nigel Worthington was in charge for the next game against Norwich

Clue 3 24th January 2006
Plymouth 1 Leicester 0
Paul Wotton's eighth goal of the season proved enough to secure the points for Plymouth and piled more misery on relegation-threatened Leicester.
After this game Levein was sacked and Rob Kelly was in charge for the next game

Plymouth of course also supplied us with Hollowman as well so the club is a total poison chalice to anything Leicester City

I always said he'd be a good appointment; he has achieved everything asked as manager in all of his short stints at other clubs.
