Academy Suffer Robins Defeat
Posted on: Sat 03 Nov 2007

Leicester City's under-18 side suffered their third defeat of the season as they went down 3-1 to Bristol City at the Belvoir Drive training ground on Saturday.

City fell behind after five minutes when a series of missed tackles allowed the visitors to score from close range.

Ashley Chambers had an opportunity to equalise for the home side midway through the first half, but his chip shot flew over the Robin's crossbar.

The Foxes forced themselves back into the game on 72 minutes; a header from Billy Kee rebounded off the bar and Robbie Burns was quickest to react.

But within two minutes the visitors found themselves in the lead once again. Another goal three minutes later condemned City to their second home defeat in three games.

City: Cisak, Cob, Garner, Rowe-Turner, O'Neill, Cox, Tuttle (Burns 45), Howard, Chambers (John-Joe 60), Kee, McKay (C King 69)

If the Academy team had the defensive skills of our first team they'd be very hard to beat. They seem to score plenty of goals. But occasionally their defence is a tad disorganised. Billy Kee and Ashley Chambers in particular look to have plenty of talent in the goal scoring department. :)
