Academy Fall To Gunners
Posted on: Sat 22 Sep 2007

Leicester City's under 18 side fell to their first defeat of the season when they went down 5-0 at Arsenal on Saturday morning.

The Foxes went into the game having collected 13 points from their opening five fixtures of the campaign.

But they would come unstuck against a very impressive Gunners line up.

Speaking after the game, Academy manager Jon Rudkin said: "The contest was finely poised at 1-0 at half time and we could have got back into the game at the start of the second half.

"But what was a very impressive Arsenal side kicked on again and they thoroughly deserved the victory in the end.

"We can take a number of positives out of the game though. We will have learnt as much out of that match as we did against Portsmouth last week."

City: Pentney, Cox, Rowe-Turner, Garner, Magunda, Chambers, McKay, Kee (O'Neill), Sappleton (Burns), King, Tuttle (Howard).

No doubt they fielded something like 8 youth internationals.....

Learn more from losing than winning at youth level

We beat the Arsenal last year to get to the Final. ;)
