Under 18s Back To Winning Ways
First half goals from James Graham and Andy King gave City a lead they would not give up against Cardiff, as they ran out 2-1 winners at the Belvoir Drive training ground.
A superb strike from Graham put the home side ahead, but they were a little more fortunate with the second, King's shot going through the goalkeeper's legs.
The Bluebirds did pull a goal back ten minutes before the half when Leicester failed to pick up a run from midfield on the counter attack.
Late in the game, City could have extended their advantage when King was bundled over in the box, but the appeals were waved away by the referee.
Despite this missed opportunity, the City defence held firm in the second period and ensured that the Foxes would claim their sixth victory of the season.
Academy Director Jon Rudkin said: "It was a very tightly contested game to be honest. Challenges were flying in and it was very competitive.
"The play was scrappy at times, but there were a lot of encouraging signs.
"Admittedly we were lucky with our second goal. The 'keeper came to pick the ball up and it went straight through him. It was a bit fortunate, but you take them in these sort of games."
