Flipping heck. Just discovered that Birch is seventy today. Makes me feel really old myself as some of my best days were at Filbert Street watching the team of his time.

A much maligned figure and often the focus of derision from those who don't know any better. He really is a Leicester legend.

Happy birthday Birch.

Wow. Hope we have a win for the Birch. Happy 70th to 'the Claw'

Like SpionFox - 'I was there' as well. He's been a great ambassador for the club as player and in support staff, and raised loads for local charities
Well Done Alan - Hope you have a great day!

Good stuff Alan :)
Is it true department: Did he start his current role (as it were) at the start of the 83-84 season?

Congratulations Alan,

A true ambassador of our club, with blue blood running through his veins!

No reason to be derogative about the bloke, any city fan that is is just trying too hard to go against the flow.

Great ambassador for the club, puts a lot of effort into his role and is a genuine down to earth chap, of which there aren't many of in the game these days.

We had just been promoted and had played Liverpool. Shanks had commented that we still played like a Second Division team Jimmy Bloomfield must have agreed because he went out and spent £100,000 each on Keith Weller and the Birch on the same day. That turned out to be a great day for the club.

There's a thought - what's the average age of all of us on here?

49 me btw.
