Amount of points to be mathematically safe

Crewe have got 28 with another 24 points available to them; 52 point maximum
Brighton have got 31 with only 21 more points available to them; also 52 point maximum
Millwall have got 33 points with another 21 available; maximum haul is 54.

So yes, today we need 55 points to be certain of staying up. It might prove to be the case however that we have already got enough to stay up - I really don't think that it is going to take 50 points this season.

i said to my mates at the weekend that a win at Millwall is enough, i think we could not get another point this season and we'd still stay up....

but i think we will, and i think we'll get 3 against Reading, thats typical leicester, we'll probably thump them 4-0 or something daft.

Realistically we are about safe. Millwall have 7 to play so they need to win at least five games to catch us.

we can reach 67 points so it'd have to be a really weird season (in terms of points for 6th place) if we were to reach the play-offs. We need Wolves and Preston (and most teams) to really mess up if we were to catch them.

And we'll need to do well even to achieve that. It's one thing scoring the points to move away from the bottom where nobody else is scoring any. It's a quite a different thing to make progress in the middle of the table where a certain number of points are required each week just to stay still.

I agree if we scraped into the top half i think it will be a good result considering where we were at christmas
