The only thing I like about the letter is its length.:icon_lol:

Whenever any individual claims to speak for the fans you know they are deluded. The fans disagree among themselves otherwise there would be no need for a forum.

Personally I think that Sven brought in some five good players. I rate Peltier higher than most people and I would add Bamba, Kasper, Konchesky and Nugent. Unfortunately Sven sold good players Pearson had developed Morrison, Hobbs and Fryatt and replaced them with players who are not as good. He also brought in a lot of deadwood. Getting that deadwood off the books is an important part of Nigel's job.

Playoffs are a nonsense aim. For three of the four clubs involved they have no benefit whatever. The real aim in the championswhip is automatic promotion. With the money that was spent that should have been a real possibility. In fact even by the time Sven was sacked it seemed highly unlikely. It is now clearly impossible for this season.

The aim should be to get a team capable of automatic promotion next season. This will need some very good signings in the summer. It is on this that we should judge Pearson and not until late September.

Oh and I am sure that the only people who want Pearson sacked are the cocks that actually believe that we can and should attract the likes of Ancelotti, Hughes and O'Neill cos we is Leicester and we is massive innit!!!!

and dont come back with well we attracted Sven, he would manage the dog and ferret Sunday league team if the contract was lucrative enough, he came here for the big bucks on offer and an opportunity to spunk someone's hard earned cash up the wall on a load of fecking average crap in the vain hope of salvaging his diminishing reputation, much in the same way his sidekick McClaren did at Forest and guess what another talented and experienced manager in Cotterill is now struggling to pick up the pieces

To be fair, I think that's quite a harsh opinion of Sven, I don't think he came here just for money, obviously the pay packet is enticing but hen he realised he didn't have the resources he was promised at Notts County he quickly resigned rather than just sit there and let the money roll in. He took the Leicester job on the basis he had that money as well. He is motivated by money yes as most are in the game and in life in general but I think he also relishes a challenge. There's plenty of managers that are all about money but wouldn't drop down a level either. Fair play to him for giving it a go. It wasn't as successful as we'd all have hoped but he is by no means a bad man.

McClaren at Forest didn't do well but it was hardly all his own making. Lost some of their best players in the summer and don't have much in terms of resources. This season was always going to be tough for them and they made a big mistake sacking Davies.

You might think it's a harsh opinion of Sven but I don't he is the man who has thrown big money away assembling a group of players clearly nowhere near good enough as a collective to challenge for promotion, and after a year in charge we had shown little in the way of significant progress. If you genuinely feel that way do you not then believe that the criticism levelled at Pearson is harsh given the fact he has only been at the club for two months and as yet he has been unable to bring in any of his own signings and has to work with a squad that rarely hit the required standards under the bloke that had assembled them together.

The problems we are currenly experiencing are of Svens making, Sousa was hung drawn and quartered for the mess he left us in, and IMO given the vast resources at his disposal Sven should take a fair amount of blame and criticism for his mis management, the only person who deserves any support is Pearson who is the man charged with sorting out this sorry mess.

To be fair, I think that's quite a harsh opinion of Sven,...

You must realise that, for Nigel Pearson to be the saviour, either he must be seen to be leading the club to great things (which he clearly isn't, yet) or, the last bloke must have been so terrible that it is going to take months, maybe years, to simply return to an even keel.

If you want another example of this, look at politics, where the last Labour government spent their first two terms blaming the previous Tory administration and the Alliance are now reciprocating.

The real worry for me is that the Thais had an almost shit or bust throw of the dice in the summer at promotion and now Pearson is here to pick up the pieces and try and bring some structure back to the club.

If the alleged refusal to meet Sharps wage demands are true then it is a clear step change from the stance in the summer and that there has been a realisation that the summer recruitment policy was massively flawed, some of this will be Pearsons influence as he has always struck me as a manager who wants his players to have hunger, desire and ambition, I also think that this is also the board realising they cannot sustain the level of spending seen under Sven.

I also do believe that a number of players will be shipped out to try and start balancing the books, in particular where players are being remunerated far beyond their abilities.

Great.

As if people weren't depressed enough! Hanging out the possibility of a second term for Dozy, Dave, Govey and shits?!

Tch.

Assuming that the Thais are going to stick with the club they need to achieve greater financial sustainability. This means shipping out the deadwood and ending the perception that the club is a soft touch. This isn't going to be easy and will involve write offs. I'm afraid Sven encouraged that perception of us. My gut feeling is that Pearson is the man to sort this mess. Difficult to say how long it will take to turn things round. Given commitment and motivation its sometimes done surprisingly quickly e.g. Warnock turning round QPR and Pearson last time round here. The Thais have had the wrong attitude they allowed Sven to throw money at the chance of instant success. It doesnt usually work like that and unfortunately the fans are going to have to put up with the consequences this season. Worse things happen at sea -as we saw this weekend.

How is this an 'open letter' if it's directed at Top?

That is what an open letter is - addressed to an individual or organisation but intended for general readership.

Is it? I thought it meant it wasn't addressed to anybody... you know, kind of... open?

Jeez, I just spent five minutes reading that horse shit. Some people clearly have too much time. A very poorly written letter written with the pen of a mad man. All over the place. 2.9 out of 10 for me.
