Leicester City will leave the front of their home shirts blank as part of their 125th anniversary celebrations next season … after a resounding vote by supporters.

Foxes fans have decided by an overwhelming margin for the shirt not to carry any branding.

Some 65 per cent of supporters chose the option in a poll run on the club's official website.

Runner-up in the poll was Forever Foxes, third was the 125 Foxes commemorative logo, and fourth was Blue Army.

Chairman Milan Mandaric said: "The fans have voted and we have listened to them.

"Next year our home shirt will be completely blank on the front. This was the overwhelming choice by our supporters and we are happy to accommodate their wishes.

"It will be a totally iconic and unique shirt that is fitting for our 125th anniversary."

Over 20,000 votes were cast in less than a week which the club hailed as a huge success.

The design for the home shirt will be unveiled to supporters at the final home game of the season against Scunthorpe United.

The commemorative kit will go on sale in the summer and be worn for the whole of the 2009-10 season.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, the club will give away a substantial part of a traditional club sponsorship inventory to supporters next season.

A further announcement regarding the club's 2009-10 away shirt will be made on Wednesday.

Runner up in the poll was Forever Foxes....

See they did a wonderful job of filtering out all of those votes from other clubs' supporters :icon_roll

Who gives a shit what the runner up was? We got what we wanted and that new badge on the OS will look good on the shirt.

Blue Army Foxes Forever, and a big '125 years' logo

Speaking of sponsors logos on shirts...........

In the software world there are often quite a few different options for basically the same thing. You can get a sponsored version which has adverts everywhere which is either free or low cost. Or you can have the full 'paid for' version which is free of adverts - your choice.

Following on from this I reckon that shirts ought to be available at all times with no sponsor logos at all for say around the usual £40. If you opt to have a shirt with the current sponsor logos on it then you should pay considerably less as you are effectively advertising the sponsor.

It'll never happen though.

The club is still keeping quiet, on who is actually going to be making the 'clean' shirt.

I can't see Jako making it (from what i've heard, so its one these.......
Mitre, Adidas, or Admiral

Do you feel a poll coming? :102:

Adidas would be good but for real nostalgia Admiral on the new blank shirt would be like rolling the clock back 20 years or so.......
