I've been thinking back to pre season........I was so excited last summer.........the appointment of Martin Allen, the signing of 14 new players...........the fact that, it seemed the club were destined for good things again and then what happens..............we lost our opening game of the season 1 nil to Blackpool at home having played rubbish!!

I now look where we are, languishing in the relegation zone of the championship, unable as we were on the first day of the season to score a goal, with an even better squad of players that we could have ever imagined and I have to ask myself.......where did it all go so wrong?

There are actually amazing parallels between our season and Newcastle Uniteds season at the moment. Both have relatively new owners, both have likeable managers, both have chopped and changed managers over the past few seasons, both have an incredibly loyal and passionate fan base, both teams on paper are a side to be reckoned with but alas both teams are in freefall.

And why is this - both teams have players that don't care. They are paid incredible sums of money to play for a club for which they have no understanding. No more Linekers, no more Shearers just players who take their money and run about for 90 minutes on a Saturday.

You can blame Holloway if you want, its not his fault. The players have to be blamed. Quite simply they do not give a shit about our football club and this will be reflected on how quickly most of them leave if we do get relegated. We have no more Taggarts, no more Elliots, no more Izzets to depend on and I do believe that this is why both Newcastle and Leicester are so alike in their reletive positions.

And I had such high hopes at the start of the season!!

I thought it was "money can't buy me love", although HM seems to have bought a good deal of love for his Krona. :icon_razz

I still can't fathom how a squad with players like Clemence, Oakley, Kisnorbo, N'Gotty, Howard, DJ, Hume, Hendrie etc can be struggling so much. It's unbelievable. We've signed quality players this season, and yet we've got worse and worse!

5 of our players were promoted from this division last season and yet they can't do anything for us! I think back to when we signed Clemence and DJ and the Birmingham fans weren't happy to see them go, especially Clemence who they thought would've done well in the Prem this year.

What the hell do we do to these players to make them so crap!?

Put a blue short on 'em? It has to be a state of mind thing, we should be able to scrap and scrape for points even if we aint scoring lots of goals, but heads drop when we lose a goal and there seems to be nobody capable of dragging us back in to games with sheer determination and effort.

Try telling Joe Mattock that he doesn't care. He's an Eyres Monsell lad, course he fecking cares about his home town team.

Richard Stearman may have been born in Wolverhampton but his upbringing was Market Harborough and he is Leicester though and through.

Don't confuse below par performances with not caring.
