Not confirmed by the club yet, but it looks a done deal...

From the Mirror:

Leicester City have finalised a deal to sign out-of-contract bad boy Andre Blackman following his controversial release from Bristol City.

Mirrorfootball revealed last month Robins boss Gary Johnson was axing defender Blackman, 18, just three months after signing him on a free from Portsmouth.

Johnson ditched Blackman after a string of incidents, including allegedly discovering he had driven without insurance.

But the former Arsenal, Tottenham and Pompey left-back is still rated as one of the best talents outside the Premier League.

And he has now earned a permanent contract at the Championship Foxes after impressing on a trial.

Londoner Blackman has agreed to be mentored by Leicester player-coach and former England full-back Chris Powell to get his career back on track.

But Blackman, who only made two Carling Cup appearances for Bristol, cannot play for Leicester’s first team until January.

Powell has his work cut out then, sounds like he could be quality.

If he cannot respond to Powell then he does not deserve to have a career. :icon_conf

We have enough cover, and judging by the amount of times he has been released he can't be that good.

If that's your opinion then fair play.

However Beighton did correctly point out that his time here won't coincide with that of Mcgivern and Powell has over 20 years on him.

Sounds like the reason he keeps moving clubs is more of an attitude problem than a lack of ability, which can be sorted out with the right coaching imo.

He was not offered a contract from Portsmouth Academy when he turned 18. He has just had his first professional contract with Bristol City. Hardly makes him a 'journeyman' does it.

"amount of times he has been released" is a sentence, "journeyman" is a word for a start.

Wikipedia English - The Free Encyclopedia Journeyman (football)
A journeyman is a term used to describe a football player who has played for many clubs during his career. Whilst most players change clubs at least once in their careers, Journeymen are rarely at one club for an extended period, and some seemingly change club every year.
