All first-team games or just league?

All competive games, I don't mind if it's just league though. It was actually my Grandad who wanted to know, no idea why though.

ALL FIRST-TEAM GAMES

273 Arthur Chandler
265 Arthur Rowley
156 Ernie Hine
117 Derek Hines
114 Arthur Lochhead
103 Gary Lineker
98 Mike Stringfellow
95 John Duncan
91 Jimmy Walsh
84 Alan Smith

Who's number one? The history bit on Football Manager tells me that Steve Walsh is our top goalscorer of all time with 55 goals.. Is that right? I can't believe it's true, I think they're records are just recent. If it is we've got to be one of the only clubs around to have a CB as their top goalscorer!

Ah so Football Manager was clearly way out  last time I trust a computer game for knowledge ;)

I hope you are not studying history!;)

You have modern-day footballing theory syndrome. Your type think that football began when the Premiership and Champions League were introduced.

 I did say I didn't think it would be right, just that I thought they would've at least tried rather than just making it up ;)

I never realised that the 2 Arthurs got that many goals though!

To be honest though I don't know too much about the club's history from before I was born, and have never been that interested. It's the now and the future that are important.

:018: :018:

You should have at the very least the following facts in your head: the top goalscorers, most appearances, years of cup final appearances, year that we finished 2nd in the league  year that we won the Charity Shield , biggest attendance, record transfer fee

And its that attitude which is why the world is fecked cause in general the younger generations don't bother to look into the past and learn from whats happened previously and learn about history at all.

Sorry thats a personal bug bear and is a generalisation about larger issues not this particular scenario per se.:icon_wink

Surprised to see Mike Stringfellow on the list. I don't remember him being all that prolific when I saw him, but probably that was towards the end of his career.
