And its that attitude which is why the world is fecked cause in general the younger generations don't bother to look into the past and learn from whats happened previously and learn about history at all.

Sorry thats a personal bug bear and is a generalisation about larger issues not this particular scenario per se.:icon_wink

I blame the parents, Dunc

The 'Legend of Leicester City' was drilled into me from an early age from both my dad and my older brother - and as a small child I probably knew more about Chandler and Rowley than I did about anyone in the (then) modern game - aided by the fact that part of my educational reading material was load of old programmes !

Same principle was applied to all of the other, far less important, areas of life

Doesn't happen nowadays. You can't blame the kids - they'll just soak up what is put in front of them

Poor old Homer Junior is in for a tough time, though

Tonight's Homework - The David Pleat era 1988-1991...........

I have constant lessons about Rowley and Chandler off my Grandad. My Dad's an expert in Bloomfield years but the 1980s I have to look further for that tutorage, it's a period most people forgot.

1966 ended all of that....the superstar status came into being not long after our World Cup triumph books newspapers magazines full of it the kids then only wanted to collect the big names ...... I was brought up on Ernie Hine and Arthur Chandler, Sep Smith had the good fortune to watch Arthur Rowley, Derek Hines Jack Lee and for a short time Willie Gardiner but they pale into insignificance
when the kids of the late 60's talk about Banks Moore the Charlton bros. Alan Ball, Peters and Hurst with reverence
thats how my lads support West Ham and theres foook all I could do about it.
