Purely speculation however, it has been muted around the baggies that they would like these two to take the helm at West Brom. Pearson is also in the frame, not too sure if Appleton would cut and run seeing as we showed loyalty to him when Shakey was axed.

The Appleton rumour was mentioned in the commentary for the West Brom game on MOTD.

Listening to the baggies on talk spurs today they were slating Pardew claiming their squad was a top ten outfit, yet not one fan placed there situation at the feet of their players, who have been dogshit all season !

Going by BN's posts, it's based purely on the fact he isn't Claude Puel.
I reckon BN is related, or even could be, Matt Le Tissier.

By his own definition, given that he has never been a Premier League manager, BN wouldn’t want you to take his opinion too seriously. It’s mere tokenism on his part, when he comments on their ability to do the job :023:

Based on? I’m interested as I don’t really know where Appleton has succeeded.

Appleton was highly regarded by Oxford fans. In his one game in charge at Leicester I seem to recall the team playing much better football than in the previous few games under Shakespeare.

I’m not sure, he usually makes - IMO - some reasoned posts that usually have some logic behind.

Did his apprenticeship at small clubs and seemed to learn and improve as he went along. He had some no-hope situations but grew through them. Did his last job at Oxford very well.

Made a counter-intuitive decision to leave that comfortable position for a vulnerable assistant manager role because he saw it as his only way to get noticed. I respect that.

Handled his period in charge very well. He talked sense and the players responded to him. Everything he said was thought through.

I think he's got something. You only have to look at how his physique changed from his playing days to know how driven he is.

He seems fiercely ambitious but smart enough to realise that he has plenty still to learn and is trying to do this.

I tip him to be a very good Premier League manager one day soon.

I see what you did there!

I'm still annoyed that nobody bothered to understand the point I was making. It certainly wasn't this!!

Don't all come crying to me when you finally realise that Puel is a dud and Appleton is off doing great things elsewhere.

Time will tell of course . . . . I am wrong once in a while.
