WIPEOUT-Woolwich-attack-video-Police-shoot-suspects (1).jpg

Looks like machine guns to me, with a female pointing a taser gun at the suspect.

I confess not to know enough to debate anymore the definitions of marksmen etc and what weapons they carry...

I think politically there is definitely some collateral in keeping these guys alive - the general public will probably think differently I would also guess...

My brother-in-law is a relatively senior police officer I will see what definition he has...

Now now Macky, It's a bit of fun me ode fruit.

I don't dislike you at all, it's absured to think so, I don't even know you. If you want stone proof that you are wrong then I suggest you pop round for a Vodka and we can watch some films where people shoot other people in the knee for fun, although I don't want you getting any ideas you angry little rascal.

Aah, but you see it's watching movies like that that gives people these notions that things like 'shoot to kill' policies exist in the real world. Vodka sounds good though

Not name calling at all, just friendly, helpful advice

Haha, that is almost as preposterous as your insinuations that wherever a bullet may hit the body, there is an equal probability that it would result in death.

Reading comprehension isn't really a skill that you possess, is it?

That article also contains a huge amount of bullshit propaganda put out by the Met following his murder to cover up their actions

Maybe so, but it clearly states that they do have a 'Shoot to Kill' policy.

I'm sure we can put that issue to bed now.

Attempts at personal ridicule are also a great way of strengthening your argument. :056:

I'm not "attempting personal ridicule", I'm asking you a question because you appear to be struggling to keep up with what has been said

Not having a go at you Hudd, but it really pisses me off when they are referred to as 'guys'. It was even happening on R5L yesterday. They are not 'guys' as that word conjures up visions of normal, rational, even friendly people. My colleagues at work can be referred to as 'guys', people in tech support can be 'guys', even you lot on this forum. But not the perpetrators of this horrific event. Never ever them.

Sorry. Rant over.

Well "my relatively senior police office relative" said those guys in his experience would have been given orders en route however if they believed they or the public were under threat they could "self-deploy"
Their training involves hundreds of different scenarios where the judgement is tested
The fact that the IPCC said thery will not be investigate is in his opinion a sign that they did "the right thing"
So that clears nothing up whatsoever as he is undoubtedly biased to his colleagues etc so we can still uphold all our own views...

He had also been been drinking waiting to get on a plane (off duty of course...)

No offence taken - I've also questioned my own use of a generic that implies as you say mainstream behaviour...

If an order is given to discharge a firearm, you have to be prepared for the target to be killed. It may not be the intention but if you are not prepared to risk it then you shouldn't shoot.

If there was a shoot to kill order i expect it would translate into several shots being fired, (2 to the chest 1 to the head?)

Please don't ever refer to me in that way, it makes me nauseous
