Seriously...bans should be issued for shite like that. Needs stamping out. Back in the very non PC days of my footballing youth when our only experience of foreign football was the World Cup & European highlights on the telly that sort of thing was commonly called "going down like a dago" Nice to know some things don't change.

That performance was fantastic....
..... for Boro and Swansea. Both of those teams will be thinking we are easily catchable if we play like that for the remainder of the season. The Watford game is now looking mightily important.

The more I think about how we went about that the more pissed off I get. It was just so negative and really bereft of any imagination whatsoever. Even on seeing that for 45 minutes, changes didn't come. Okazaki and Gray should have been on far earlier and told to make absolute pests of themselves. Pisser.

The back 5 were great. The rest were bloody awful.

Arsenal were there for the taking, but unfortunately we had a bollockless approach to the match. Both substitutions were far too late.

still - a couple of minutes to go - needed a goal - Need a long throw from Fuchs into the box and what happens? We waste any opportunity and precious time with a petulant throw at an even more petulant player - not the attitude of a team that 'fights to the end' is it?

Back 5 played well.

The rest were Mahrez-like.

Well I will open up this little gem, why did Shakespeare choose a defensive game? Arsenal have been crap at the back all season and as others have said it was very pearsonesque with the same result. Our strength is going forward at pace, Vardy didn't have a decent ball all night, Albrighton was a shadow of the attacking player we know,Mahrez, and I have stayed out of the debate that's raged on here, was simply awful. I won't start on Drinkwater he wasn't far behind Mahrez in terms of being ineffective. The back four were very good as was Ndidi but Benny was lucky not to see a red card. So what does the Manager do now ? This will test Shakespeares credentials as Manager, we are not out of the mire yet.

All of the above.

I think Sanchez should have been sent off. That second foul on Huth (for which Arsenal got a free-kick) was totally reckless and deserving of a yellow.

That seals it for me. Shakespeare shouldn't get the job. Completely wrong approach on every level. This is the worst Arsenal side I've seen in 2 decades. I watched Palace tear them several new arseholes the other week. We certainly could have done the same. I was expecting a hangover performance now that the CL adventure is over but not from the ****ing manager!

Having fun with Arsenal fans on Twatter though...yelling for a retro red card against Benny. I've suggested that I'd be amenable to that as long as Sanchez also gets one for feigning injury to get Fuchs sent off. They weren't having any of that.
They were even less impressed at my suggestion that Benny could be forgiven the challenge due to the extenuating circumstances that Giroud is a) French & b) plays for Arsenal. Both of which would probably lead him to assume that he doesn't actually have a backbone.

They went ****ing mental for some reason.

Touchy these Londoners. I blame the jellied eels.

For anyone that actual thinks that we are going to get caught and relegated, you can still get 200/1 with some bookmakers. Easy monies.

That could've been a CR game from before Christmas.

Set-up not to lose, we defended well, let in a heavily deflected shot and were incapable of turning the game around with such little time left.

As many have asked why did Shakey decide on such a negative game? Our players had 8 days off, Arsenal had 3 after an ET game. Arsenal aren't very good this year especially in defence where they were trying an experimental back 3 for one of the very few times in the last 10 years.

Starting Ulloa was a shocker. The guy is a good championship striker and had a few good touches last time out but most of the year he rightly hasn't even made the squad. He cannot play a pressing game and was unable to head a ball yesterday. How many balls did he head to one of our players? Mahrez was his usual brilliant self and for the first time in a long while Albrighton was the same. Albrighton seemed to be copying Mahrez. Get the ball. Take 1 touch too many or take on 1 man too many and lose it. Back to Mahrez - I counted how many times he had 3 defenders on him - once - even then it didn't start that way. Throughout the game he had 1 player on him but he dithered on the ball for so long that another would arrive and then he'd make a short pass backwards to DD or Huth. There were many times in the match when he had no opposition player anywhere near him - admittedly that was when he was playing defence though. Arsenal chose the side of the field he was on to attack. Ndidi had another avergae to poor game, giving the ball away too often. Vardy - was he on the pitch? Having said all that the back 5 were very good. Huth again my motm but Benny, Fuchs, Simpson and Kasper were all very good. DD got some stick above but he was our next best player especially defensively breaking up plays.

Shakey's tactics were all wrong to start with and his changes which have been inspired in the last few games were non-existant. Bringing on Okazaki - did he touch the ball - and then Gray in the 90th minute - did Shakey think he could change the game in that time?

Disappointing. hopefully not a sign that the team has finished for the season. We should have beaten that rubbish and be sitting in 10th. Shakey will need to do better than that between now and the end of the season to get the position next year.

I didn't say they would. I said they will think they can. As will Swansea and Hull.

Mind-reading? I'd have thought that Boro and Sunderland will already know they are going down. Just my opinion.
