I ****ing can't wait. This close season has lasted far, far too long. Footy is back!

Yes we might lose. But guess what? We might win.

Arsenal haven't exactly had the best summer. They still don't know if Sanchez is staying, Wenger is still there, their only big signing is Lacazette who wasn't fancied by Europe's elite and will presumably take time to adapt, they've got plenty of injuries themselves, their defence looks suspect, they still haven't addressed the lack of a spine in their team, and their fans will turn on them if things start going badly. We've got players who hopefully will want to make up for last season's disappointment, a motivated Mahrez who will want to show he deserves the big transfer he craves while the window is still open, a rejuvenated Matty James who's looked good in pre-season and hopefully Iheanacho to come in and show why he's one of the most highly rated young strikers in the country.

We don't know what will happen, but either way I can't ****ing wait. The ups, the downs, the cheers and groans. Bring it on.

My Arsenal supporting mate is surprisingly optimistic about this match.

He's usually one of the most downbeat regarding Arsenal getting a result so It did surprise me.

Would ****ing love it if we wiped his new found optimism away at the 1st occurrence :)

Don't Arsenal typically start the season slowly?

Past results are no indication as to future performance.

I have no predictions, I'm just going to watch... and hope. Hope that MachoMan/NachoNan/Iheanacho impresses and, preferably, gets on the score sheet. I have a lot of hope but am not match fit on confidence.

We ran them close a good 18 years back. Then Super Frank came up with a classic winner for them.

I can cope with us losing both games against them this season. Again.
As long as we finish 10 points above them. Again.

Vardy worth a couple of quid.

Hope Ian Nacho gets some minutes
