Against top teams, we hear the phrase, 'I'd settle for a draw' , 'I'd offer my right hand for a draw before,' etc., etc. ., Given the negativity towards us getting any kind of result here, would we concede or 'settle' for a small 1-0 or 2-0 loss before the kick off - rather than risk the pain of a real thrashing ?

We’ve won away at Arsenal once in the last 51 years.

But I’m sure the usual suspects with either agendas or delusions of grandeur will stick the knife in if we lose. And probably even if we draw.

Oh, do give over! It's like listening to a cracked record.

Accept that they will almost certainly score, even if our defence plays really well.
Let us just get in their faces, like we did against Spurs, and put on some aggressive strikers and just go for it.

Head-to-head

  • Arsenal have won 21 of their last 34 Premier League games against Leicester City (D8, L5).
  • The most recent competitive meetings were in the Premier League in 2022-23. Arsenal won 4-2 at home and 1-0 away, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring in both victories.
  • The Foxes have lost five consecutive top-flight matches against Arsenal since Jamie Vardy scored the only goal at the Emirates in October 2020.
  • That victory is Leicester's only win in their last 30 away games versus Arsenal in all competitions (D7, L22).
Arsenal

  • Arsenal have won three of their five Premier League matches this season (W3, D2), only dropping points in games against Brighton and Manchester City when they had a player sent off whilst leading.
  • The Gunners have won 16 of their last 17 top-flight fixtures against newly promoted opposition (including all six last season by an aggregate score of 25-4). The exception in that run was a 1-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest on 20 May 2023.
  • Kai Havertz can become the first player to score in each of Arsenal's opening three home matches of a Premier League campaign since Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in 2019-20.
  • Gabriel has netted 16 Premier League goals, including scoring in both of Arsenal's last two league games. Since the Brazilian's debut in the league in 2020, he is the top-scoring defender, ahead of Kurt Zouma on 11.
  • Gabriel Jesus has scored seven goals in eight Premier League appearances against Leicester.
Leicester City

  • Leicester City (D3, L2) are winless in each of their opening five games of a Premier League campaign for the third time. The two previous occasions (in 1994-95 and 2022-23) both saw them eventually relegated.
  • The Foxes' only clean sheet in their last 28 top-flight fixtures was a 0-0 draw at Newcastle United in May 2023.
  • Leicester have scored in 20 of their past 21 Premier League matches in London, although the exception was a 2-0 defeat at Arsenal on 13 March 2022.
  • Steve Cooper has only won one of his last 18 league matches as a manager and just two of 30 away from home (D8, L20).
  • Jamie Vardy has scored 11 Premier League goals versus Arsenal, more than against any other club. The only players with better records against the Gunners are Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney (14 and 12 goals respectively).
  • Stephy Mavididi can become the first player to net in each of his first three Premier League starts for Leicester. He is the second player to score in both of his first two, after Mark Robins in 1995.
