It's a very difficult one to call at this stage of the season. We've played Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea in our first 8 games and have played well in general.

We are creating plently of chances each game which is encouraging - However, the sign of a relegation team is just that.....Creating chances and not sticking them away!

If I am honest, I think we will just stay up....Just! The time to reflect will be after 19 games in to the season. As there is a 2 week break now, we can get some players back fit in time for the Spurs game.

Either way, Forest aint going up! :o :P

at the start of the season I was full of optimism and confidently predicting a mid table finish, well, now I think we will stay up but it will be a long hard fight, I think in the final analysis the experience we have will see us through.

I'm afraid to be brutally honest at the moment I can see us going down.

Hateful as the thought is, who are the three teams who are going to finish below us ? Sadly, I just can't see three. :(

God I hope I eat all my words and my hats...

We need a good finisher when the transfer window is open like.....Jonaton Johansson.

He is behind Di Canio, Cole, Euell, Libie, and a few more. (at Charlton)

I still think we'll stay up. If we'd been lucky and got what we could have (say, 3 points vs Saints/Middlesborough, and a point against Chelsea & Liverpool) then we'd be 7th now. We havn't been, which is the problem.

It'll be a real shame to go down after playing so well and matching (with the exception of Man Utd & Villa first 10 mins) the other team.

Exactly. I think we have been extremely unlucky, but not putting the chances away is a sign of a relegation team though. Hopefully that will change and we'll put a few past Spurs ala Leeds. :D

Scowy, did I miss something? When did we play the Arse.
As for Marlon ask in 6 more games, 3 games ago even you would have said it looks promising, so lets not go overboard about the last 3 games shall we.
Just Keep the Faith lads.

My only hope is Marlon that due to performances like Villa and Fulham happening so early on - we can learn and turn these things around in time. It would be so damaging for the club to be relegated again that I just wonder who may come in if we're in this position come the next transfer window....Dawson perhaps?

I think we have about the same chances of survival as when we started hte season. I still think we have a good side and a good manger. We have a good home following and i think we have a good chance. It will be a fight but I think we willl do it. Leeds Wolves and Bolton have arguably looked far worst than us so far this season.

Have you noticed on Marlon's posts thet the number of points the Trees are ahead of the Sheep is ever decresing  8)

I think we will likely go down, however , I do not think it will be because we won't score enough goals. With Bent now on board and the return of Gillespie and later on Hignett, I believe we will create, and score, sufficient goals...

However, I don't believe our defensive has enough depth. If Curtis, Thatcher, Matty and Callum are ever all fit then we will be fine, but if Franky, Howey, Taggs have to play in too many games then we are in serious trouble...

Defensive injuries will seal our fate one way or another...

Too be quite honest if we go down it's because unlike most of the teams in the Prem we just don't have enough flair players. Even Muzzy plays to deep for my liking and we aren't scoring enough. On topof that the defense isn't good enough! Howey is a major dissapointment, he is a slower, fatter, not as good version of Elliott! There are some plus points of course, we are a much better side than last year and when we got relegated but every other side has improved dramatically except Spurs!

I think that is the key thing - Muzzy playing far too deep. He's doing to much at the moment because Nalis is too slow and gives the ball away far to easily.

Muzzy is most effective in a 5 man midfiled. During the Martin O'Neill period, we had the likes of Lenon and Savage in midfiled which allowed Muzzy to get forward and express his self and get a few goals too.

Before the Fulham game we'd scored the 4th most goals out of any team, and now we're 10th, so scoring goals isn't that much of a problem? We've only not scored in 2 games. Our problem is luck ;)
