I've eventually had my cracked screen on my laptop replaced (after about a year) but now my audio device isn't working...does anybody know how I can fix this?

I've updated the drivers but I keep getting a...

'Code 10 This Device Doesn't Work'

I'm assuming I need to enable the device in BIOS but when I go to BIOS the option to enable it isn't there.

any help at all would be gratefully received...

my first thoughts would be that either the sound card itself is shagged or you have the wrong drivers installed.

which operating system do you have?
which sound card are you using?
where have you updated the drivers from?

i'm running XP, the sound card is a VIA AC'97 sound card and I've been to the official VIA website and updated the drivers..it just comes down to enabling the soundcard (i think) but my version of BIOS doesn't have the option to enable it and I wondered whether any of you knew how I could get around it if poss?

why do you think it is a BIOS setting? Have you previously disabled i thru the BIOS?
Have you tried the original setup CDs that came with the PC to update the soundcard drivers or is it a PC that you have built yourself?
