My first time of starting the match thread. Let us hope that the fact that 9 years ago today Barnsley were relegated from the Premiership by losing to us is a good omen.

Team:

Logan
Johanssen Kisnorbo McAuley Stearman
Newton Hughes Wesolowski Mattock
Fryatt Hume

Subs
Henderson, Maybury, Horsfield, Cadamateri, Porter

COME ON YOU BLUE BOYS!

I hope you bring us luck. ;) Is that your team? :102:

It is today's team just announced on RL, unchanged from Preston with Porter replacing Hammond on the bench. I have always assumed you were not allowed to start the Match Thread unless you had the team news!

I think the only rule surrounding the match thread is not to start it too early. ;)

From the OS. ;)

No Changes

Nigel Worthington keeps the faith with the same side that gained a victory over Preston for the Championship encounter against Barnsley at Oakwell.

The only change to the 16 comes on the bench, with Levi Porter, back from illness, replacing Elvis Hammond.

Conrad Logan again starts the game in goal, with a back four of Richard Stearman, Patrick Kisnorbo, Gareth McAuley and Nisse Johansson playing in front of him.

Shaun Newton, James Wesolowski, Stephen Hughes and Joe Mattock make up the City midfield from right to left, with Matty Fryatt and Iain Hume starting the game up top.

Barnsley include star striker Daniel Nardiello, who has passed a late fitness test to be included in the Tykes starting XI.

City: Logan, Stearman, Kisnorbo ©, McAuley, Johansson, Newton, Wesolowski, Hughes, Mattock, Hume, Fryatt.
Subs: Henderson, Maybury, Cadamarteri, Horsfield, Porter.

Barnsley: Colgan, Heckingbottom, Ferenczi, Togwell, Howard, Austin, K Reid, Devaney, Nardiello, Kay, P Reid ©.
Subs: Lucas, McCann, Rajczi, Jones, Atkinson.

20 minutes before kick-off and I am already confused. I am sure Tosser Barber has just announced Henderson in goal with Logan on the bench as an unchanged team from last week!

I am listening to the Barnsley broadcast. ;)

Another game when I can work on my tan and listen on Leicester securing their Championship place at the same time. Happy days.
