Leicester City have had a major rebuild under Sven & the new Thai owners, adding some excellent players and building a strong squad, but lets not be under any illusions.. this will be a long, tough season.
Although it's a nice compliment to the club & testimony to the quality of players brought in, I get a bit uneasy everytime I see Leicester picked as a prediction for Championhip title winners.
In fairness to the knowledge & intelligence of the regular members on this forum, most of the clamour has come from the media & general public, not from us Leicester fans who are on very familiar terms with footballing heartbreak :icon_sad:
We should embark on this new season with a sence of calm optimism, and I think this is sensible when you look at the other heavyweights we are competing against this season. I can't remember such strong competetion running through the Championship division, ever before
Compared to previous seasons where there were 4-5 big clubs with resources & talented squads, the division this year is 70% filled with good clubs, all capable of taking points off each other any given Saturday, and filling the top spots come April
West Ham, Birmingham, Reading, Cardiff, Leeds, Forest, Boro, Southampton, Ipswich, Portsmouth, Derby ......well maybe not Derby, but you get my drift!
Here's to an exciting season ahead, starting with the intriguing away derby at Cov today.
Let's ROAR the boys on to a 2:1 win today, "Sven Goran Erikson's blue & white arrrrrmy...."
