The annual report showing the relative values of European clubs has been published:

https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...s/leicester-city-ranked-among-europes-1594714

City are valued at £523m and that makes us the 7th biggest in England and the 15th biggest in Europe.

Of the 14 teams above us, 12 are in next seasons Champions League and the other two are in the Europa League. That makes us the biggest team in Europe not in European football next season.

I also make our net transfer spend over the last 2-3 years easily inside the top 10 in Europe. So our return on our investment is also lagging behind where it should be. Our wage bill will also be bigger than our 15th position.

Does this make us the biggest underachievers in Europe right now?

So, we finished a stonking 2, yes 2 whole places behind our 'natural' position based on £££.

Just to keep it real could you please look at THAT season, the one after and the one just gone. Work out our £££ expected finish verses our actual finishes and see if that fills you with the same sense of doom?

Just putting it out there.

The owners are pissing themselves silly with these figures.

How much did they spend to buy the club?

How much depth did they take on?

How much outgoing/incoming was the Nett spend of transfers?

They have just invested in a Golf Course that in time will put us on the map in World Football as
The best training Centre/Academy anywhere .

We as a fan group should look at the Teams above us and ask what it is like to support those Teams?
They take every opportunity to wring out every last £€$ out of their fanbase .

Leicester City is greater than the sum of its parts ,,,, we ain't done bad folks ...have we

But 9th is all we could have achieved and we should be happy with that. I know bat because all the journalists/pundits/experts told me so.

It's true

We were never going to compete with the likes of Burnley and Everton, with all those galacticos on display

Moaning because we're currently one of the top 20 most valuable clubs in Europe, and therefore probably the world. Think of where we've come from.. before the last few years we were a yo-yo club hopping between 1st and 2nd division with the odd foray into Europe courtesy of picking up the odd league cup every once in a blue moon....

Not to forget the very odd foray into League One.

Blimey, a few of you have got your knickers in a twist about this haven't you?

My rationale for posting this was to emphasise further just how far we've come as a club. There are still some people that think we should be celebrating being a Premier League club, let alone actually aspiring to be a strong one.

Our owners have expressed an expectation of European football. They expect us to be competitive with the top six sides.

With our squad, our budget and our ambition, we should have been looking for a final points total in the mid 60s. That would have got us European football and made us competitive. It would also have been about right for us as a club.

If we're going to attract quality players, we have to be doing better and we have to be unhappy with the season just gone. Otherwise, the owners might as well sell up and move on.

Another factor is players at the World Cup. We expect to have 10 there, equal with Juventus.

The only teams with more than that are: Man City, Man Utd, Chelsea, Spurs, Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern.

We'll have more there than Liverpool and Arsenal.

I've got Kasper, Ricardo, Benny, Macquire, Silva, Ndidi, Shinzi, Vardy and Nacho. Who am I missing?
