Bit of fun...

If you had the choice of one win / one loss in the 2 games v Chelsea which one would you take?

  • Premier League

It has to be the Cup. The FA Cup final was my dad's favourite football match of the year, whether City were playing or not. He saw all 4 previous defeats, I watched 3 of them on TV. I'll take this for him and me. CL is great, a boost to the coffers, but the Cup is much more emotionally satisfying. Come on City.

I guess it depends on your age the older Leicester supporters will take the F. A cup where as the younger ones will want CL football.
Also the F. A cup has lost its appeal over the years, finishing in the top 4 is deemed more of an achievement by most.
Either an emotional trophy for the cabinet or pastures new in the CL

Yeah, times change, but we have done CL and could do again, if not this year maybe in another. We are setting up to be consistent top-4 challengers, if only for 33 or so matches, but that number is getting better. Perhaps future fans will want the ESL, that's up to them.

I've seen us in the CL. I've seen us in the EL. I've seen us win the PL. I've seen us win the LC. There's only one left.
World Super Cup, right?

With our record against the teams in the top 6 this season there's no reason why after we've won the cup we can't take 3 points against Chelsea in the league too.
We need to do what Leicester do and that's put the fear of God into the so called big boys...

From a selfish point of view then it's the FA Cup.
From the clubs progression aspect then top 4 to keep the good ones here and bring the better ones in.

Yep, a more poignant question now, given how things have shaped up.

I like @sparky79 's answer as we don't have to decide!

But if I did....

It's pretty pointless answering "both", as we would all obviously want both, but the point of the thread is that, "if you had the choice of one", which would it be?

Seeing a lot of this on Twitter today too.

We're all trying to pick which one we'd prefer.

Let's face it, either one would be fantastic

And knowing us, we could end up with neither!

Not a betting man but I'd guess that's what the odds might suggest.

I had an £8 bet on in January for us to win the FA Cup. I could cash out now for £45

Although I think a week ago I was being offered £55

£136 if I hold on and we win though...

Took this from the article BN posted in the Rodgers thread, but thought this bet was relevant here.

Rodgers has always insisted that trophies would never change him, reflecting upon the lives of his parents who worked for decades without trinkets or medals. But he is no fool; he knows that winning the FA Cup on Saturday would provide a definitive answer to an uncomfortable, unfair question.

All the talk about which we as fans would prefer. But which would Rodgers choose to win?

Top 4 is a huge achievement, no doubt. But its not a trophy.

Which does one more for Rodgers reputation, and avoiding his stigma of being a bottler who can't quite close the deal at the top level?

Losing out on top 4 again would be seen as the bigger bottle job. Losing a cup final wouldn't. But does taking an actual trophy answer his critics mroe than a top 4 finish?
