Just been on East Midlands today that there is a scheme being started to get fans from the county to the Walkers Stadium via the waterways on water taxis.

Absolutely pointless. Maximum speed is 4 m.p.h. Locks take about 8 minutes each. With all the time that it will take to load and unload, you will be quicker to walk along the towpath.
 
Boc will only use it if the barge says "foxes forever" really big down the side.
 
They is done at Man Utd games. The difference is that the boats the Man U fans go on serves up breakfast as well. :icon_wink

Boc won't use a barge at all. The correct term is narrowboat. We boaters are quite sniffy about this.

No. The difference is that Old Trafford is on the Bridgewater Canal which has no locks, is wider and deeper and has a higher spped limit.
 
I saw a narrowboat at Cov with some of their fans who'd obviously been on it a while judging by the amount of empty tins of fizz.
The Safety Advisory Group (sic) wouldn't go for it at Leicester.
