By the way, what has Mike Newell done that makes you think he is a better manager than Micky Adams?

Any manager that comes in ,is a gamble. Most of us were happy to have Micky Adams 2 yrs ago,but it all went sour.I remember being excited by David Pleats arrival but he was a failure. So no guarantees whoever takes over.I just don't see us getting a big name, and feel that Mike Newell would see us as a step up.

There were a few leicester ladies of the night also excited when Pleat arrived, no probs on the rent for a few years.

I would like to see George Burley be given the job, was fantastic at Ipswich and under the circumstances has done well at Derby, and encourages good football, with this current squad and the promising youth at his disposal I think he would be the right manager at the right time.

IMO Mike Newell hasnt proved himself as yet needs to win promotion this season to really prove his creditentials, little bit too inexperienced for me.

Didn't he turn Hartlepool around before going to luton.
Also Martin o neil came to us after a good spell with wycombe and a promosing record in lower leagues,so why not give him a chance.

Thinking about it on the train home,I think they may well go for Hoddle if he wants it.Not my chosen one I hasten to add but I can just see them going for him.Up to me I'd go for Craig Levein,Terry Butcher,Brian Little,Dave Penney or Bobby Robson until the end of the season, but thinking about it the last named unfortunately isn't going to happen which is a shame because with him we would have an extremely good chance of promotion. Two other longshots I may as well mention are Steve Cotterill or Stuart Pearce. If Bassett gets the job I will probably cry, wheres the sense in going back 3 years when he was unsuccessful then whereas Little got us promotion.

What's Gary Megson doing in there

No-one would want to take such a step back in their career.
