TB I know I can rely on you

My brake lights are constantly turned on (very dim but still!). When i lift the brake pedal they go off but as soon as I let go the pedal falls down half an inch and the lights go back on.

Is this just a loose pedal ?

Anybody who can sort this out for me wins brownie points.

Its a 97 Fiesta.

Should be a switch under the brake pedal has it come lose,or broken also is your brake fluid topped up
