I think the difference between a kick and a karate kick is the Venus Williams-type noise which emanates during the arc of the kick. Just like a boxing punch, the perpetrator has to inform the victim about their skills & training three weeks in advance, in writing, including a copy of any certificates to perform said motion and a photograph of them in all of their kit looking a bit odd. If they fail to do this they will be banned from practising their hobby, be stripped of any world titles and risk never being allowed to visit the home of karate - Basingstoke.
