Terrible start to the Derbyshire match

Broad missing again...he's had sore shins for the past week which is why he missed the one-dayers. I guess he won't be picked in the test squad then.

The disappointing thing is that a player like David Masters or Nick Walker would haved played through this injury, Broad isn't even in the England test side yet and already he is being wrapped in cotton wool.

Let fast bowlers bowl and build up some character by playing through niggles. This is ridiculous.

Luckily it looks like rain will save us in this match otherwise I would be confident of a defeat.

The England squad is named tomorrow, I wonder if Nico will be in it.

I thought the same as well CM but reading the county website it looks like he's got a new injury and is out for 2-3 weeks

Its named on sunday sorry,

Derbyshire 213/5 at Lunch. 4 ahead.

Well we got Derbyshire all out for 250odd but are already 54-4. I suppose if we get a 150 lead before we're bowled out we might have a chance. At least this season with Amjad at 8 we're batting quite low down.

Amjad is showing signs of being a half decent cricketer!

Derbyshire are big favourites to win this game but you never know, if we put a 200 lead on the board then it could well be competitive.

115-7 think were in the mire although this partnership has added 48 runs

given the state our bowling attack in it would have been nice for the batsmen to show some quality in this match. The batting had been OK in the first few games, just our bowling was toothless, and I wasn't too despondent despite 2 losses and a draw. But this game has set us back to where we were at the start of last season.

Rosenberg in for Maunders next time I hope.

Another disappointing result. At least Amjad took a few wickets, which should boost his confidence.

Our main problem is that we havent had the chance to field a full strength side yet. Our second problem is that the batsmen just arent scoring the runs they should.

Robinson 302 runs @ 37.75. 1 x 100, 1 x 50.
New 298 @ 37.25. 4 x 50.
Ackerman 263 @ 32.87. 1 x 100, 1 x 50.
Allenby 179 @ 25.57. 1 x 50.
Maunders 169 @ 28.16. 1 x 50.
Mansoor Amjad 140 @ 23.33. 1 x 50.
Nixon 127 @ 31.75
Sadler 126 @ 15.75
Rosenberg 81 @ 81. 1 x 50.

Only 2 centuries in eight team innings. Thats staggeringly poor!

I would drop Sadler for Rosenberg but tbh, most of our batsmen need to improve and buck their ideas up.

Also drop Walker, he is shit.

But in 2 matches we've also conceded 500+ twice and gave Somerset 376 in the second innings to set us a target.

Our lack of penetration yet again this season means we won't take 20 wickets, especially with Broad injured. Our overseas bowlers again and again are a disappointment - when will one of them come in and take 8-10 wickets in a match!

That simply heaps the pressure on the batsmen.

I think Sadler is a better bet than Maunders and he is in form in the one-dayers.

At least they are making changes and giving the others a chance to prove themselve.s.
