Bruno! Bruno!

Hope he's good, don't know much about him.

What I don't understand is - I thought the transfer window had shut. How did we get round that?

You mean he wasn't wanted by any other football team in the world?

Even Bournemouth rejected him?

Does make me wonder why he's only just signed now if he's been a free agent since July.

Odd.

He got injured training with City early-August and spent the subsequent 3 to 4 weeks recovering using City's medical facilities.

I didn't know that.

So it was either sign for 3 years or he gets a bill for his care.

Good one.

Foxes Snare Swiss International

Leicester City today further bolstered their international ranks with the signing of free agent Bruno Berner, subject to Football League approval.

The 30-year-old left-back, whose contract at Blackburn Rovers expired at the end of last season, has signed up with the Foxes until the end of the 2011 campaign.

Berner has amassed a total of 16 caps for Switzerland to date and becomes manager Nigel Pearson's tenth capture since he arrived at the club.

Pearson said: "Bruno showed a real desire to join us. He's a player with a wealth of experience and I am sure he will be a great addition to our squad."

Chairman Milan Mandaric added: "Bruno had options to play at a higher level, but he can see what is happening here. He's a player of great caliber and it is fantastic to have him on board."

Berner was part of the City reserve side that battled out a 2-2 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday afternoon.

He made four appearances for Rovers last season - his final start for the club coming in their 2-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in February.

Berner has also represented Grasshopper Zurich, SC Freiburg and FC Basel during his playing career.

The player, who has been handed the number 31 shirt, will be eligable to play in Saturday's clash against Millwall if selected.

Good signing and only increases competition at left-back.

I mean, it was only down to Chris Powell and Joe Mattock at the end of the day so this is an astute and much needed signing.

How do you injure yourself when you haven't got a club???

Not having a club doesn't mean you're immune to injury, he could've stubbed his toe getting out of bed or ended up with pink eye after one of those mad parties that footballers go to

Re: Bruno Berner

It's a shame MM can't spell calibre.

Still, I suppose that's just a UK thing and doesn't apply to US Serbs or the LCFC journos.........

Two nations separated by a common language, as Churchill (not the nodding dog in the car) said
