Re Akinbyi

However, his manager Steve Cotterill has said of him: "A few people raised their eyebrows when we signed him, but they've probably got them shut now.

Twat. Akinbadbuy is a very good player at this level and this is his level. I would have raised my eyebrows if a PL Manager had signed him to play in the PL though.

fair play to ade hes done a good job for them :038:

Yeah he obviously just wasnt trying hard enough for us! To be fair i think he got that scared of playing in front of his own fans he would have prefered the task of inserting a red hot poker up his bottom!

To be fair to Akinbye, he worked his socks off for us. The problem was PT bought a player who chased long balls over the top, and used his pace to beat defences. What did PT try to do - he made him face his own defence all the time, and tried to turn him in to a Sheringham-like player, collecting the ball and laying it off. It didn't work as the ball kept bouncing off assorted parts of his body. This was not his fault, as that was not his game, and PT should bloody well have recognised it before shelling out all that money. Personally, I thought a) Akinbye was not good enough at that level anyway, and b) I had a lot of sympathy for him as he was being asked to play in a fashion totally unsuitable to the "skills" he possesed. Again, and I know I am repeating myself here, this was due to PT's total lack of judgement.

I agree me old chumney warner!
The not trying hard enough was just messing! I did actually feel sorry for the guy in the end and was so willing him to score not just for us as fans but for himself! So chuffed when he did eventually hit the onion bag, could have done without the six-pack being displayed though, made me feel inadequate! haha

like everyone here, so far, i appreciated his commitment and effort. and for that it was dissappointing that some city fans booed him at the recent burnley home match.

Ade worked his socks off for us. Yes he didn't score the goals we were hoping, but he didn't put the price tag on himself. I'd have him back now, if we could erase his time with us previously!
