Anyone see University Challenge the other week where only one person knew the path of the spacecraft being displayed was that of Voyager 2. What do they teach these kids nowadays.? :roll:

How many different craft were there in the Voyager and Mariner series and what was their individual missions?

Saturn 5. That was 1 big bird with some real ummppphhh in it.

this little member is at NASA in Houston. They are currently constructing a building to put it in (hence all the construction work going on in the rocket park).

2 Voyagers.
1st i believe went to Saturn and Jupiter.
2nd went to Saturn Jupiter Uranus and Neptune and is now passing through the Kuiper belt.

I believe that Mariner 10 is the only craft to have visited Mercury thus far

Apollo 9 was launched about 8-10 weeks before the famous moon landing mission of apollo 11. It was used to test the lunar module in earths orbit before the main event. ;-)
