Mine doesn't, I still get the 404 messeage or "Internet Explorer Cannot Display The Webpage" as it is now

You need to enable searching from the address bar

Tools menu > Internet options > advanced tab > scroll down & you'll see the options available

I have got it enabled. I was just explaining what happens to my IE when I type an address in wrong as opposed to searching the web

furry muff, but I thought that meant it was supposed to do a search if the address wasn't recognised.

I'm not a fan of IE myself, but I've just tested it & that's what mine does.

At a guess I'd say your PC must be full of junkware from dubious dwarf porn sites.

I reckon it's all to with who supplys you with IE as to what they put in the registry

e.g. Pack Bell supply Leroys PC, so they tap into the IE registry and amend the page specified

exactly right MF, I'v got a Packard Bell laptop & my IE was exactly the same , also had an horrific Purple skin on IE that I didn't even realise was possible to do until I saw it.

Managed to change the search thingy. Can I change the skins. yes I know im useless.
