I Have stated for a while now that i feel the best thing for Leicester City would be to get rid of Levein.

However having listened to his post match interview, it seems now for the first time he has aknowledged the clubs situation and the threat to his job.

Today was the first (sustained) chants for levein to go, and for him to state, that he wouldn't walk away, shows he is a least aware of his job being somewhat insecure. Also when asked about his future, he avoided the subject quite nervously i felt, which i am pleased about (not because i like to see him squirm) because untill now his comments have suggested that he didn't feel any urgency or pressure.

he also admitted that relegation has become a concern.

I Still feel that a new manager would be the answer, but i am interested to see how CL will react to the realisation that he is under pressure. maybe its what he needs to get himself into gear, and he squad will hopefully follow.

I have desired for CL to go Now, and if he does i wont complain, but i am, in light of the above, prepared to wait and see how he reacts.

CL is happy that the team can give their all for the club but is frustrated that no on can put the ball in the net & we loose.

There's eleven of us here who would give their all on the pitch for the club for 90 mins. Not Score. Loose. No difference.

The players in Blue today were working for CL. CL should give them the biggest bollocking and get them on the tranining ground early tommorrow and get them working out how to score.

CL will be incharge next week. Next Month.
I love excitement (I love beer too)
Cant take much more of either at this point in the evening.

Goodnight..

Whether he can handle the pressure is really irrelevant. It certainly doesn't relieve the pressure on the team. Getting out of the Championship League..(Who came up with that name?) is difficult enough. Slip any lower and you're toast! (Just ask Forest!) While I dislike seeing anyone lose their job, there is too much at stake. C.L. is clearly out of his league. The frightening thing is...if they do get rid of him..who are they going to bring in? Personally, out of all the driftwood floating around, I would choose David Pleat..(If he'd even take the job!) Anyway, before I receive a ton of replies telling me what a total plonk I am, I'll wish all City fans a happy new year..(we need it!) from snowy Toronto...(-13c)

Levein is standing the pressure, he was with Hearts in a highly un-competitive league, he had minor success (let's face it he didnt win a Scottish Cup during time there but Hibs and etc did). Now he is faced with a harder proposition to crack this League, so far he isnt up to the fight. He's lost, his team selection and lack of tactical nous proves this.

There just simply isn't anyone out there who is
a) available
b) better
c) cheap
who can replace CL.
The club would have to pay compensation for the remaining parts of CL's contract, which means less money for the new manager (if there were gonna be one) to spend.
In an unstable enough as it is siutation, there would be more instability with a change of manager.

I really hope that Levein can handle the pressure, not because I like what he is doing, but the thought of Gregory/Pleat/Dublin or any other even worse choices managing City is just unbearable.

Pretty much exactly what I was going to post. :icon_razz

As I've stated before (yesterday?) I like Levein and want him to stay because I believe he can turn it around but away from the emotional side of things I cannot see how a change of manager would help things. It's not just a gamble in my opinion, it's more serious than that. Do we get a manager who has been around, knows the Championship but perhaps has lost that edge (Bassett? Gregory? Pleat?) and will want to change probably the whole playing style (and maybe playing staff) - not to mention the fact that they're out of management at the moment because they weren't good enough at previous clubs. Or do we get an inexperienced Championship manager who will need about as much time as Levein has had to adjust to this league (whether that is someone like Penney or Dublin), and will want to bring in his own players - which he'll have no money to do. Is there a point in exchanging like for like at huge expense? There is always a chance we could find a diamond of course, but it seems like a pretty minuscule one.

Do we spend our new striker money on paying Levein off...what do we need more? I think we need a striker more. We needed one under Adams at the start of last season, and we still need one, changing a manager again won't solve our problem up front.

Agree with that, we played really well today and should have had the game done and dusted by half time, I am convinced that we are a decent finisher away from being a top side in this division, and whilst I don`t agree with all of CLs idea`s I can`t see any benefit of all the upheval that changing managers causes.

the way that things are going at the moment are the most frustrating times as a city fan. we are playing very well, well enogh to beat teams like norwich etc but we arn't. this is simply because we are not scoring. before the crewe game i was a levein supporter, ever since then ive wanted the guy out, however after todays game i fail to see any other manager who will get the team playing as well as they are. we just need someone to put the fecking ball in the net. END OF

I don`t think the club will make any rash decisions over Craig`s future, the Sheffield Wednesday game now becomes an important one lets see what happens after that.

I thought we played well in the first half, but second half Levein was out thought and lets be honest I dont think he has what it takes to change the outcome of a game, yes he is fine if we take the lead, but if we go a goal down it just seems to be leave things as they are until 5 mins to go and throw all the big guns up front and TBH it doesnt work.

Everyone keeps going on about this new striker that is going to come in and save our season, but is he going to provide better service, is he going to make the midfield more defensively aware, is he going to stop the mistakes at the back or cut out the goalkeeping errors......No, at present we are a long way from being a decent team, granted we have a good squad but not a team and one player aint going to change that or the tactical nievity of Levein.

Very funny.....of course they won't make any "rash decisions" ...because we don't have a board in the normal sense of the term.

You have been following football and Leicester City to know that no board with any standards and bottle would have put up with the results for which Levein has to take responsibility.

The manager doesn't have the personality, tactical nous or even resolution to achieve success. To start off with he doesn't even know his best team.

You are a knowledgeable, loyal supporter....but in this instance you are kidding yoursdelf.

I think what ever the board do they need to act now and its looking obvious that they wont sack Levien, so they should go and get him some help. when robson was struggling at Boro he called in El Tel to giv him hand i think the board should look the same way. May be get George Graham to over look Levien im sure he can motivate even though he's been out the game for a while. Plus he would strengthen the back line. Levien is nieve ( ithink thats how you spell it) in his choice for team selection for matches he's bought the right players to the club but he just cant get them to click. Whatever the board do they should do now

Sack him! or Back him!

that goes for the fans aswell booing just brings on more presure for players so lets hope George Graham or someone like him experianced comes to assist. As for Sir Bob even though he's a bit of a national tresure the stress at LCFC would probably give him a heart attack! we would want to be responsible for that.

heres to a good year lets hope during the summer we all think that Levien is just as good as Fergie!

Imo its the Cardiff home match after Sheff W where it could all boil over. I can't see us winning either the Palace or Sheff W games. If thats so then by the time we play Cardiff we will be in the relegation zone. Then reality will it home for even the CL supporters
