I listened to Stringer/Young in the first half and Stringer said good things about Schlupp today, and he praised Bamba, Beckford and Vassell. Maybe those people who think he's racist don't hear it when he says good things about black players.

Couldn't stand listening to the pair of them any longer though so I switched to the Cardiff commentators instead.

I always thought Young seemed more xenophobic than racist, but the more I hear him the more I think he just wants to see players that haven't existed since the imaginary 60s.

Racist is a bit of a stretch and perhaps I was foolish to suggest he likes white players, but I firmly believe that he's a fan of the 'British' style of footballer, big lads who throw their weight around and run themselves into the ground. Blood and guts football, if you will.
