Schmeichel; St. Ledger, Morgan (c), Keane, Schlupp; Wellens, Drinkwater, King; Nugent, Wood, Dyer.

Re: Cardiff City (A)

Subs: Whitbread, Marshall, Vardy, Logan, Waghorn, Knockaert, Kane.

Re: Cardiff City (A)

I know I shouldn't but;

Wellens has to be a typo! Do you mean Waghorn?

Re: Cardiff City (A)

Pack the midfield with Wood up front on his own and Nugent coming wide.

Can't complain at the tactic if that's what it is though Wellens needs to improve massively from the Hudds match if we are to stand a chance. Probably would have put Knocky in for Nuge as Nuge has been just as poor recently but Knocky is a wide man and can always make something from nothing for us.

Saying all that it'll probably 4-4-2 but still think we will do a lot better than expected tonight and sneak it.

Re: Cardiff City (A)

I wonder if Marshall is injured or just dropped?

Re: Cardiff City (A)

Maybe 4 -1 - 3 -2.
Or 4 - 1- 3 - 1 - 1
Or 3 - 1 - 4 - 2
or 3 - 1 - 4 - 1 -1
With Wellens the protector :)

Or 4- 4- 2 ;)

Re: Cardiff City (A)

Wood

Drinkwater - Dyer - Nugent

King - Schmeichel - Schlupp - St. Ledger - Keane

Morgan - Wellens

Looks a winning line-up to me

People keep telling me this but Knockaert hasn't made something from nothing, or anything from something, for a fair few games now. He's probably in the poorest form of all except Marshall.

Re: Cardiff City (A)

I look at that team and cannot see how we will avoid a pasting so: 1-0 to Leicester!

Re: Cardiff City (A)

I was certain we'd get thumped before I saw the line-up. No question marks now: hats on, bunker down.

Re: Cardiff City (A)

Dyer yes, but Nugent out of position?

Nugent tends to come wide quite a bit anyway to try and get the ball and also likes to run at defenders with his pace. Not ideal but can't be any worse than Marshall as of late (bar Blakcburn) so I can see why but as before, would have gone for Knockaert myself.

Could work quite well imo with Wellens and Drinkwater sitting in midfield to allow the wide players to attack and King to do what he's best at and get in the box to help out the attack.

Saying that, we do need the ball to do this and relying on 2 players playing at full-back when it is not their ideal position but have both performed amicably well there before so I have some deluded, blue-tinted reasons to be optimistic tonight!
