Still amazes me that this gets coverage on Sky

Just a load of old blokes playing five a side - and people actually pay to go and watch it

Bizarre

As supposed to watching a load of overpaid young wankers doing the same thing?

It's far more enjoyable (and cheaper) to watch than the modern game, and it makes a nice change. I normally go but can't this year.....

I agree. :icon_eek:

Anyway, we won it (again). David Oldfield got the golden boot (again) and we put six past Derby, who had Marc Edworthy playing for them.

Good to watch as Leicester were by far the best organised and classiest team there. It's great to watch a Leicester side winning with style. who cares that they are as old as 35!

i was there, muzz was a class above anyone else. edworthy was crap for the shaggers, though.

I think we're the only bunch who actually go on proper training for this competition. Now while that clearly is effective, I am not that proud to be fair... :)

Well they were dog shit in the finals last year so I wouldn't deem it totally effective.

Sky hate Leicester doing well at the Masters. They only really want the ' big teams ' there.

They seemed very positive towards us when I watched it? Sometimes I think Leicester fans can suffer from the "everyone hates us" syndrome.

No paranoia on this one from me, because its true.

I've mentioned it before, that a guy that i work with ( tom ) plays regularly alongside these players in the legends team. Thats because Tom would have been a professional footballer with them, until he suffered a bad injury before his professional career was about to start.
All the older players like Paul Reid, Ally Mauchlen, Gary Mac,and Walshy have always remained friends with him, and include him in social events.
Tom has been with them to the Masters for the last few years, and knows everything that goes off.
Sky had informed the teams competing in the finals a couple of years back, that the winners could take part against top European teams in a ' Euro Masters'.
The idea was to be like a champions league, with a top English side against the likes of Bayern Munich, Barcelona, and AC Milan.
The moment Leicester won the final, Sky back tracked and cancelled their plans for the tournament. Lets face it, you can market Man U, Liverpool, Chelski, and Arse, but not Leicester.
We are only included because they want all regions represented, but ideally they would like us out of the way.

.

Played football with that fella at the Walkers. Decent bloke. Runs like a mincer though (I'd guess that was from the injury).

TBH with Muzzy, I ain't surprised we cruised it. The bloke could still do non-league easy now.
