Yep, that's also a possibility, along with Lewis, Stewart, MDV, Akekake and a million others.

But do you reckon Hume would get the same "worshipping" treatment if he were black?*

* I'm not insinuating, nor accusing, nor do I have a firm opinion, just raising something for discussion.

A sad state of our times that you ask a legitimate question and have to quantify that there's no hidden agenda. :icon_roll

As was Heskey, everyone liked a bit of sir Les too.

Hume is worshipped by the BM's because it is clear he puts in the effort. You can question his ability and application but not his effort. Cort looks lazy and gets slated even though his general lack of fitness means it is probably as much effort for him to play the way he does now as Hume does when he is playing the headless chicken.

Hang on a minute... Heskey was doled out abuse and Les was a complete and total legend from day one, so he had nothing to prove.

Never heard the Heskey abuse myself, though i wasnt a regular in those days, i have only heard good things said about him.

As for the other bit so was Dublin and he was worshipped by the Mongies throughout his entire time here. IMO he was shit and lazy yet was a local hero come home, he was even clapped when he returned with Norwich.

Whether the player has anything to prove or not, if the crowd were generally racist Les would have had some abuse from somewhere. Any miss placed shot would have been slaughtered etc. I think the level of racism at our club is as low as it is likely to get IMO.

Well the numbers just do not add up for me, in that the amount of players of a certain race who are not given anything like as long a chance as others.

I think it would be naive to assume that racism doesn't exist among the LCFC fanbase. It exists everywhere else so why not? There are always going to be racists. Just as there are always going to be liars, thieves, drug addicts, murderers etc. It may even be possible that there are people out there that don't even know they're racist but always seem to be more critical of black footballers than caucasian footballers.
I'm not racist, I never discriminate.

I hate everyone regardless of colour, creed or sexual orientation.

it could be that people fail to see any potential from our black players. ngotty doesn't get much stick, cort does...the difference? cort has been shit and lazy since he got here

Perhaps.

I don't agree about CC, he played great at Chelski.

every dog has his day as they say. i was going to put a bet on cort to score on saturday as i though after cardiff his style of forward was what we needed, thank feck i saved my tenner. he may improve, he may not, but at the moment he looks like a crock of shite who doesn't feel like getting involved, i didn't go to chelsea so as far as i know he could have been shite :icon_wink i'll only ever judge on performances i have seen

And you would be 100% right to do so, I wasn't there on Saturday so I can't.

I don't believe IH would blow up like that if he didn't believe the fans were out of order however.

Maybe Alex but after reading his comments he gave the impression that the level of performance was accceptable whilst most think it was anything but, slightly worrying

IH was saying that the level was acceptable considering the conditions he was playing in and that he was doing it to help Supplebum.

similarly i don't think IH would have gone as mental about our fans if he had seen the bigger picture throughout the entire season. i don't boo, don't really understand those who do. but i can imagine people who do, that would see me still singing for my team come 90 minutes would find my behaviour just as odd

I meant the whole team not just Cort

well there were other players ahead of him in the 'played crap' stakes but i hate it when players get booed its counter productive to the player himself and to the rest of the team..i read holloways programme notes and he made a point of saying he has to make the players feel loved and wanted before he starts seeing what positions to strengthen i think thats what he may have eluded to in his post match speech

he didn't elude that point at all, he said he wants the players to feel loved. for love to work it has to work both ways, and i have to say feeling cheated on will not bring much love from the fans

than carl cort? yes....clemence for one, he escapes criticism as he has no real support along side him, whereas hume is classed as support for cort. hume was largely ineffective and shite, but worked hard which excludes him from the criticism list

I kind of understand what he means but I'd imagine the genuine fan who goes down every match will find it a little difficult to cheer and clap a player that they have seen 'go missing' so much in the past.Like I said maybe everyone needs to draw a line under the season so far and treat this has a new beginning. It worries me slightly that Holloway spent very little time on talking about how poorly his side played and seemed to want to slate certain sections of the fans instead, not that he was wrong in what he said about them

he did come out of the dressing room for an interview much later than expected. whether he was wanting to rant at the referee or just blasting the players, i'm not sure. hopefully it was a bit of the latter as pinning the blame for that result on the referee is a bit stupid

i dont get why clemence for example doesnt get boooed but the likes of cort does..i know he is there to score the goals but its a team game and he hadnt trained for 2 weeks so he was bound to be rusty and given our lack of strikers that were available there wasnt that much option imo..and im sure cort is going to put to one side the reaction he got the next time he plays at home^
