I can remember the older Steve Thompson (ex-Charlton, curly hair and a 'tache I think) joined us in the late 80s and didn't play. I'm sure there are many more, but can't be bothered to get Of F&F off the shelf.

I used to work with Daz Stevens who was a city apprentice in the 80's. He once told me that Steve Thompson was the worst professional footballer he had ever seen bar none.

It was Alan Fettis, we had him for a while in 1999.

He used to go to school with Mr. mg! I didn't realise he was an apprentice at the City - I knew Ian Baraclough (who also went school with them) was.

He was an apprentice in the Pleat era. I thought he was having a larf until he shown me the pre-season team photo where he was lined up with the likes of Gary Mac, Mauchlen, and a few other old city favourites. He didn't make it at city but could have gone to a 2nd division club in Holland. He then basically gave up but later turned up for Leicester United (Enderby town). I also remember him telling me that Rushden & Diamonds had a fantastic ground and set-up, this being about 4 or 5 years before Rushden gained promotion to the league.
