The Mirror Today printed an apology to Milan Manderic apologising for the story they ran on MM sacking Martin Allen the day after after MA saving Clarke's life. The Mirror made it clear that MA did not save Clarke's life although he was sacked the next day.
Just incase nobody saw it:102:

Almost a 'non-apology' isn't it.

Obviously a legal obligation rather than a heartfelt act of contrition.

I agree. It was the apology you get when legal action is being threatened.

Apart from the fact he is back at Sunderland!

We could really do with him here. Delighted it looks like he will still be able to play though!! :038:

I would think that it is extremely unlikely that he will ever play league football again. I can't imagine that it is remotely likely that he would get both medical/ insurance clearance nor find a league club that would take the risk.

Very sad for Clive Clarke - but his long term health is ultimately much more important than his football career.

It was a great left back for this league, hopefully he can recover and start training would be great to see him comeback from a double stroke, i think leicester should let him train with us once he is ready to come back to football.

This life is more important then his carear but a few players have come back from horrific injuries and strokes to play sports again. It would be great for our left-backs to learn things from him like how to tackle and how to get stuck in!

Let's get this into bloody perspective.

He was a competent left back that played a handful of games for us, that's all. Let's face it, he aint no Stuart Pearce and this club aint a charity.

He's gone, good luck to him, but he's gone.

Refreshing reality check!

He came to us because a struggling prem club regarded him as surplus to requirements; our manager of that moment described him as unspectacular but solid; he came up to those specifications; he has suffered a personal career tragedy but the main thing is that he has made a good recovery......and sadly he won't be playing for Leicester City again.
Please don't let us turn him into another meaningless "Leicester Legend".

Interesting read indeed. Nails the more hysterical allegations that keep popping up on here as well.

Yes I thought it was interesting too, especially the bit about Keane not giving anyone confidence because he doesn't talk to them. Apparently they don't measure up to the standards he was used to at Man Utd. And he wasn't happy with that either. He's a hard man to please it seems and will be managing a Championship side next year unless he pulls his big Man Utd head in. :icon_bigg
